In IBD: Crohn's and Colitis
I can remember exactly how I felt when we discovered issues going on with our son. I was terrified. I felt helpless and I was mad at myself for not figuring out sooner that he was having problems. He didn't tell us what was really going on, kept it a secret for months. We were quickly seen by our family doc and sent straight to Dr. Kunde within days. He was diagnosed with IBD at 13. It has been 2 and a half years and I am so happy to say that he is a multi sport high school athlete and a happy teenager. He has fully accepted his new normal and he doesn't let it stop him from anything!! He excels in the classroom and on the fields. I never forget the things we have gone through but I always know that my child is in the best hands. I have my moments and am always a worried momma but watching my child succeed at all things he puts his mind to is the greatest blessing!
